Death and injury from child abuse are preventable, but everyone involved with a child needs to do their part. Most children do not disclose abuse but they do want someone to intervene to help them. Can you recognise when a child is being abused? Respond appropriately when a child discloses abuse? Refer a child to the best help available. This workshop will cover signs and symptoms of abuse, the effects of abuse and how to respond to a child who discloses abuse.

This workshop will give an overview of the concepts within Parents Centres' Conscious Parenting programmes. Understand the importance of positive discipline and positive communication with children and explore as we walk through some of the simple exercises which demonstrate how as a parent you can begin to put this into action. Learn how important it is to focus on yourself first before you can have a positive focus on a child.
